Another example of Adobe’s moves to make Flex the platform of choice for people building advanced applications is the release of Cocomo, a collaboration framework for Flex:

[from CoCoMo - Collaboration for Every Developer by Ryan Stewart]

Along with the Flash Platform news, we’ve released CoCoMo, one of the coolest products at Adobe. CoCoMo is basically a framework that lets you add collaboration to any Flex application out there. It comes with a few basic components like video chat, text chat, and whiteboards, but it also includes hooks so that you can build your own real-time collaborative application.

The features of the Cocomo beta include the following:

  • VoIP Audio
  • Webcam Video
  • Chat
  • Multi-User Whiteboards
  • Real-Time File Sharing
  • User Management
  • Roles and Permissions
  • Robust Data Messaging

Pricing information seems a bit hard to find, however, and various developers have complained in the thread at Campbell’s blog — he is the platform evangelist for Adobe — about Cocomo’s lack of support for Flash.
