I came across this very informative video in Business Week’s Voices Of Innovation Series on Using Games  For Business - How Game Play Can Shape The Future.

In the video, Jane McGonigal, Director of Game Research and Development at the Institute For The Future, covers key questions that are relevant to businesses interested in Serious Gaming through the use of social tools like blogs, wikis, twitter etc (collectively termed Alternate Reality Games)

* What Exactly Is An Alternate Reality Game (ARG)?
* Use of ARG for harnessing collaborative efforts
* Cost of Implementing ARGs in an Enterprise
* Use of ARGs for Marketing And Promotions Within an Organization

Companies across the world are gradually recognizing that today’s workforce (and future generations) are gamers who are into competition, goal based playing and graphically immersive scenarios. Serious Gaming is the use of game based technologies by enterprises to educate, innovate and evolve - by engaging their employees and customers through computer games.

I will be covering the use and application of Serious Games in organizations in my next set of blog posts.
